Pound Cake Heart

Where does my skin go when I sleep?

Does it sneak off to Kentucky

to be stroked and groped

like a little sadistic cyclical sex doll

bent by pure will

I imagine that when I close my eyes my hair will find your hand to fist

and find love in how deep I can pull a class ring

Or maybe in how long I can go without kissing you

and I can’t help but feel as though there is a middle ground that’s just an ant out of reach
